About Me

Hi! My name is Emily

you can call me Em

I'm a Christ-follower

It's outta-this-world, blow-your-mind amazing to be in this non-stop-lovingdirty-heart-cleansing, tattered-soul-mending,forever-His-living relationship.

This is my story of how I came to be a believer in Jesus Christ.

I'm married

I just love my husband!  His name's Tedd (with two "d"s).
I got married when I was 20, just one semester before finishing college (w/ a BA in Spanish), and I've never regretted for a moment being married young.

Our Wedding Day - May 27th, 2007

I'm grateful to be a mom

Motherhood is something I'm passionate about, and I write about meaningful parenting from time to time here on my blog.
March 12th, 2011, we had a beautiful little boy
((this is his birth story))

And on November 20th, 2012, we had a sweet little girl
((this is her birth story, in which I tell you about my VBAC!)

And around Thanksgiving 2014, we're expecting another!

I'm a "missionary"

I do literacy work with my husband, travel overseas (with our children tagging along for the adventure), and do graphic design work for the organization we work with - Literacy & Evangelism International.

You can read all about our work and adventures here (just click the image):

I love to sing and write music

Tedd and I made a worship/praise album back in 2008.
Want one?  It's free (even the shipping).

My favorite song is "Make Me A Worshiper"

In 2009, we started renovating an old Queen Anne Victorian

Talk about hard work!  After 5 years, we're finally living in and enjoying our home, but have many projects still keeping us busy.  On a regular basis, I try to keep from losing my marbles over the mess and construction, but when I look back at all the projects we've completed, I'm encouraged and remain optimistic about the final product we may achieve someday.

getting there...

Here's what it looked like before...and somewhat currently (notice I chose a snow photo, b/c that's always more flattering.  Frankly the exterior of our home still needs a ton of work).

Cooking is a hobby of mine

I like to share recipes and menu plans

& I put on my crafty hat when I have time
I really enjoy blogging.

It's just me sharin'.  It's an outlet, a journal, a testimony, a story, a place to pour a little bit of my heart out.

Leave a comment and let me know a little about you (and link me up to your blog if you've got one)!
I like making bloggy buddies.
So glad you stopped by!
